Work With Us

We rely on the incredible support of our volunteers, donors, and fundraisers.

We are an anti-poverty Charity focussed on the prevention and relief of poverty in Newcastle upon Tyne and the surrounding areas by providing emergency food, affordable food, and welfare services to people in need.

Founded in 2013 in the west end of Newcastle, we began by providing emergency food parcels. Since then and in response to growing demands, we’ve set up foodbank hubs across the City, expanded our welfare programme, Pathways out of Hunger, and launched a network of Community Pantries to provide affordable food in areas of deprivation across the City region.

Our work is powered by a dedicated team of volunteers and staff, working with community partners to make meaningful differences to peoples’ lives.

“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline.”

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis.

Newcastle Community Pantry operates a network of Pantries in socially disadvantaged neighbourhoods across the City, the membership-based co-operative provides a dignified, affordable shopping experience with added access to welfare support.

Food Newcastle is an independent network of individuals and food-related organisations leading change for healthier food culture in Newcastle upon Tyne. Food Newcastle is hosted by Newcastle Foodbank.
The NUFC Fans Foodbank are Foodbank volunteers and football fans who raise funds for our Charity at Newcastle United home games. The Fans Foodbank is part of a wider, national Fans Supporting Foodbank Network.
